Air Force Rolls To 82-67 Win Over LIU

BROOKLYN, NY - Air Force men's basketball rolled to an 82-67 win at Long Island Friday afternoon at the Steinberg Wellness Center. The Falcons got a career-high 26 points from Ethan Taylor and Beau Becker added 20 points.
After a back-and-forth start, which featured seven lead changes, Air Force took control of the game with a big run to close out the first half. Up four, the Falcons ripped off a 13-0 run over a six minute span to take control of the game at 41-24 with 41 seconds to play.
LIU hit a three with 31 second left in the half to stop the run. Air Force added a bucket before the half to take a commanding 43-27 lead at the break.
The Falcons shot 58 percent from the field and from three-point range in the opening half. The Falcons connected on 7 of 12 three's in the first half.
The Falcons got up by as many as 29 points as they kept the pedal to the floor offensively to start the second half. Becker scored 16 of his 20 points in the second half.
Taylor had a career-day, setting career-high's with six three's and 11 rebounds for his third double-double of his career. The guard went 9 of 17 from the field and 6 of 11 from three point range. He also led the Falcons with six assists and two steals.
Junior guard Byron Brown was a bright spot off the bench, scoring a career-high 13 points. Brown entered the game with seven career points.
Sophomore forward Corbin Green had four blocked shots and freshmen Luke Kearney and Brady Ruggles made their collegiate debuts.
Air Force shot 51 percent from the field and 44 percent from three. The Falcons made 10 three's and had seven team blocked shots.
RJ Green led four Sharks in double-figures with 12 points. Air Force held LIU to 38 percent shooting on the day.
Air Force returns to action Sunday, Nov. 12, at Delaware. The game is slated for a 1 pm ET tip.
