Distance Runners Ready to Open Indoor Season in Boston

Ten members of the Air Force distance squad will kick off the 2023-24 track and field season this Saturday (Dec. 2), when they travel to Massachusetts to take on some of the nation's elite 5000-meter runners at the prestigious Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in Boston.
MEET INFORMATION
Boston University's Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener will be held on Saturday, Dec. 2, at the BU Track and Tennis Center (100 Ashford St). Two heats of the men's 5000-meter run will take place at 10:00 a.m., while the majority of the 5000-meter heats will begin with the women at 4:25 p.m. and continue until approximately 8:45 p.m. (all times Eastern). The meet will be streamed live on FloTrack, while Lancer Timing will provide in-meet results (links to both are available on the team's schedule page). Tickets are $12 and can be purchased via Ticketmaster. In addition, in-meet highlights will be posted on the team's official X and Instagram accounts (@af_tfxc).
WHO'S WHO…
The women will be represented by Halle Hamilton, Ally Peterson and Tiaree Towler, while Zach Ayers, Eli Bennett, Luke Combs, Jett Knight, Brenton Maddox, Jayden Nats and Jason Renze will represent Air Force in the men's race. Final heat assignments will be determined closer to the start of the meet.
COMING UP
The rest of the track and field team opens the 2023-24 season next week, when they host the Air Force Holiday Opener. Action is slated to begin at 2:00 p.m. (MT) inside the Cadet Field House Indoor Track.
