Air Force baseball has released its 2024 schedule, a slate littered with a variety of high-profile matchups for the Falcons.
The Falcons will open the 2024 season in Starkville at Mississippi State, the 2021 College World Series champions, on February 16. Air Force's opening series will mark just the second time in school history the Falcons will have shared the same field with the Bulldogs, last doing so in 2008. The Falcons will then follow their series against Mississippi State with a single game versus Southern Mississippi, a 46-win program in 2023, on February 19.
Air Force will return to Kinston, North Carolina for the annual Freedom Classic versus Navy starting February 23. The three-game series will again be held at Grainger Stadium, the home of the Texas Rangers' Single-A affiliate, the Down East Wood Ducks. The Falcons will succeed the Freedom Classic with their first-ever contest against UNC-Wilmington on February 26.
Given the unique opportunity, Coach Kazlausky's group is prepared to travel to Sugar Land, Texas to take part in the Battle at the Ballpark from March 1-3. All three games will be hosted at Constellation Field, home to Sugar Land Space Cowboys, the Houston Astros Triple-A affiliate. There, Air Force will face Creighton (Feb. 1), Army, (Feb. 2), and Louisiana Tech (Feb. 3). Tickets for the Battle at the Ballpark are available here.
Following the Falcons time in Texas, Air Force will travel to Auburn to play the Tigers for the first time in program history. The midweek series will take place March 5-6. Of note, Air Force will travel to notable non-conference opponents such as Texas (March 19-20), Saint Mary's (March 26), and Texas A&M (April 16).
Air Force fans will have the opportunity to watch their favorite team on the big league stage, as the Falcons will battle Northern Colorado at Coors Field, the home of the Colorado Rockies, on April 23. The ballgame represents Air Force's first-ever trip to Coors Field. The Falcons will play the Bears in two additional games, including one matchup at USAFA (April 9) and another in Greeley (April 30).
The Falcons will make their home debut at Erdle Field on March 15 when Air Force hosts San Diego State. Air Force will also welcome out-of-conference opponents such as Dallas Baptist (April 12-14) and South Dakota State (May 6). Within the Mountain West, Air Force is prepared to host New Mexico (April 19-21), Nevada (April 26-28), San Jose State (May 3-5), and Fresno State (May 17-19).
