
Layne leads Falcons in second round at Watersound Invitational

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Senior Isaac Layne led the Air Force golf team in the second round of the Watersound Invitational, Monday, Feb. 20, at the Shark's Tooth Golf Course in Panama City Beach, Fla.
Layne shot an even-par 72 and made four birdies on the day. After an opening round 71, sophomore Cameron Kahle shot 78 in round two. Both Kahle and Layne are tied at 149 after 36 holes. Sophomore Christopher Park shot 81, freshman Brooks Morrell shot 83 and freshman Alvaro Fonseca shot 88. Freshman Ted Davenport, competing as an independent, shot 80.
Vanderbilt, the No. 1 team in the nation, leads the field with a 552 (-24). No. 12 Georgia Tech is second at 560 (-16) and No. 11 Florida State is third (565). Air Force is in 11th place at 621. Eight of the top 40 teams in the nation are competing in the tournament.
The final round of the tournament begins at 7:30 am ET on Tuesday, Feb. 21.
