Heidbreder and Murphy Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

Sophomore Jake Heidbreder and senior Carter Murphy were named to the 2022-23 Academic All-District Men's Basketball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizing the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.

Heidbreder, a management major, maintains a 3.54 grade-point average. He currently leads the Falcons and ranks ninth in the Mountain West in scoring, averaging 14.8 points per game.

Murphy, a Data Science major, maintains a 3.94 grade-point average. Murphy is averaging 6.0 points per game as a key cog in the second unit. Murphy is playing the best basketball of his career as the season winds down, averaging 15.3 points over his last three games.

The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid March. The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed at the links above.
