IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Four Falcons are in the NCAA Coaches' rankings heading into the league tournament. Wyatt Hendrickson checks in at No. 6 in the heavyweight division, Sam Wolf No. 16 at 176, Cody Phippen No. 21 at 133, and Dylan Martinez at No. 30 at 149. Four Falcons have numbers in front of their names in the RPI; Hendrickson (No. 5), Phippen (No. 9), Martinez (No. 24), and freshman 125 pounder Tucker Owens (No. 32). Due to a tally error, Wolf was erroneously left out of the RPI ranking.
HENDRICKSON EYEING MOST DOMINANT
Wyatt Hendrickson has 14 pins this season and has delivered bonus points in all dual meets. With three majors and three technical falls included on his total tally, Hendrickson is .919 in bonus point wins this season. He has delivered the Falcons 67 points in dual action.
LAST TIME AT THE BIG 12 TOURNAMENT
Air Force's Hendrickson commanded his way through the heavyweight division of the 2022 Big 12 Wrestling Championships, becoming the Falcons' first-ever Big 12 Champion. Hendrickson, who was crowned the Outstanding Wrestler, was one of two Falcons to clinch a spot in the 2022 NCAA Tournament in the wake of the league championship.
Now graduated senior Sidney Flores placed fourth and current senior Dylan Martinez placed sixth. In a ninth-place bracket established for the 174-class, Sam Wolf won a pair of matches against Kekana Fouret (Utah Valley) and Riley Habisch (North Dakota State).
UP NEXT
The Falcons will await seed allocations for the 2023 NCAA Wrestling Championships, slated for March 16-18, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
