USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - No. 68 Air Force men's tennis defeated Idaho State 4-3 in non-conference action Wednesday night at the Indoor Tennis Courts in Cadet Gym. The Falcons won its fourth straight and improved to 11-1 on the season.
Air Force took the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. Nick Vroman and Justin Waldman won at No. 1 over Kramer/DePellgrin 6-1. Jonathan Mascagni and Kyle Garner won at No. 3 over Cankus/Sklenka 6-1 for the clinching point.
In singles, the Falcons went 3-3, clinching after the fifth singles match.
Phillip Deaton opened with a win at No. 4 over Wikus Robbertse 6-1, 6-2. After a loss at No. 1, Justin Waldman put the Falcons ahead 3-1 with a win at No. 3 over Andreas Kramer 6-2, 6-2.
Idaho State then won at No. 2 to make it a 3-2 match. AJ Moore then clinced for the Falcons with the win at No. 6 over Hiroki Fujita 6-3, 6-2.
Air Force returns to action Friday, March 10, at No. 75 Northern Arizona.
