Air Force With 4-2 Setback To Omaha

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's tennis dropped a 4-2 home contest to Omaha (13-9) in non-conference action Thursday morning at the USAFA Outdoor Tennis Courts. The Falcons dropped to 11-9 on the season.

The Falcons opened with the doubles point. The Falcons won at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Justin Waldman and Nick Vroman teamed to win at No. 2 over Korkunov/Mishiro 6-2. Kyle Garner and Phillip Deaton won at No. 3 over Piles Ballester/Quintana 7-6 (7-3) to clinch the doubles points.

The Falcons went 1-4 in singles play, including a 1-4 mark in singles set tiebreakers.

Arjun Kersten posted Air Force's singles win, taking down Davis Lawley at No. 1 in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.

Phillp Deaton, who made his first appearance at No. 2, fell in three sets to Mikhail Korkunov 3-6, 6-1, 7-6 (7-5). Vroman fell at No. 3 to Ryoma Mishiro 6-4, 7-6 (7-4). Jack Brown dropped his match at No. 4 in three sets to Hugo Piles Ballester 6-7 (7-4), 6-3, 6-3. Jonathan Mascagni fell at No. 6 to Quintan Van Wijk 6-3, 7-6 (7-4).

Air Force returns to action April 20 hosting UNLV.
