USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – A program-record six members of the Air Force track and field team were named to the College Sports Communicators' Division I Academic All-District Track/Field and Cross Country Team, the CSC announced this morning (May 31).
Senior Aidan Boyle, junior Brian Hubbard, junior Philip Hundl, sophomore Jason Renze, junior Katie Thompson and senior Katie Van Havel claimed academic all-district honors by maintaining a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.5 and being a significant contributor.
The 2023 Academic All-District Men's and Women's Track/Field and Cross Country Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom. The Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on June 28 (women) and June 29 (men).
With the addition of these six Falcons to the Academic All-District team, the Falcons' track and field program has seen 33 different athletes combine for 39 academic honors from CSC (formerly CoSIDA) since the program began in 2002 – and has had at least one selection to the Academic All-District Team in 17 of the last 18 years.
