
Fourteen Falcons named to AHA all-academic team; Blessing named Student-Athlete of the Year

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Fourteen Air Force hockey players were named to the Atlantic Hockey all-academic team, as announced today by the league office. The 14 selections tie as the third most in school history and the same number as last season.
Rising junior Guy Blessing was one of 14 Student-Athletes of the Year, earning a 4.0 GPA in both semesters of the 2022-23 academic year. Blessing the seventh Falcon to earn the honor, joining Scott Bradley, CHA, 2001; Brian Gornick, CHA, 2002; Mike Polidor, CHA, 2004; Brooks Turnquist, CHA, 2006; Matt Koch, AHA, 2019; Matt Serratore, AHA, 2019.
To qualify for the AHA all-academic team, an individual must post a 3.0 GPA or better for both semesters of the 2022-23 academic year.
Representing Air Force on the Atlantic Hockey all-academic team are: graduated seniors Blake Bride (geospatial science), Brandon Koch (operations research), Andrew Kruse (economics), Bennett Norlin (economics), Austin Park (aeronautical engineering), Ty Pochipinski (management) and Willie Reim (economics); rising seniors Sam Brennan (computer science), Luke Robinson (operations research) and Luke Rowe (military strategic studies); rising juniors Guy Blessing (aeronautical engineering) and Clayton Cosentino (civil engineering); and rising sophomores Mason McCormick (undeclared) and Holt Oliphant (undeclared).
Koch and Pochipinski were named to the team for the fourth time in their careers. Brennan, Bride, Kruse, Park, Reim and Robinson were named for the third time while Rowe, Norlin, Blessing and Cosentino were named for the second time. McCormick and Oliphant were named for the first time in their careers.
