
Kahle led Falcons in final day of Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Junior Cameron Kahle led the Air Force golf team on the final day of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational, Tuesday, Sept. 12, at the Academy's Eisenhower Blue Golf Course. Kahle made 17 pars, including 14 consecutive, for a final round of 73 (+1).
Sophomore Alvaro Fonseca was the top Falcon over the 54-hole tournament with a 220. Kahle shot 224, followed by freshman Eli Huntington (231), senior Aaron Kuznik (232) and senior Max Heupel (234).
CSU's Christoph Bleier and Valparaiso's Caleb VanArragon each shot 203 (-13), with VanArragon winning the individual title on the first playoff hole.
Colorado State won the team title for the second straight year with a score of 851 (-13). Wyoming was second at 862 with UC Davis and Valparaiso tying for third at 864 (even). Air Force placed 23rd at 904.
In the individual event on the Silver Course, Alejandro Nava from UC Davis, Louis Pilod from Cal Poly and T.J. Shehee from Northern Colorado all tied at 206 (-10). Shehee won the individual title on the second playoff hole.
Freshman Alex Lynch was the top Falcon in the individual event with a 213 (-3) shooting 69-75-69. Sophomore Ted Davenport shot 214, followed by Eric Liveringhouse (218), Chris Park (220), Carson Baker (222), Brooks Morrell (222), Grant Samuelson (230) and Jake Myre (232).
Air Force returns to action at the Mark Simpson Invitational, hosted by the University of Colorado, Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 2-3, in Erie, Colo.
