USAF ACADEMY, Colo. -- Highlighted by four home meets and road trips to several of the nation's elite competitions, the Air Force track and field team announced its schedule for the 2023-24 season this afternoon. The Falcons will host three indoor meets at the Cadet Field House and one outdoor competition at the Cadet Outdoor Track and Field Complex during the upcoming campaign.
Air Force will open the home portion of its season in December, when it hosts the Holiday Open on Dec. 8. The Falcons continue their home schedule in 2024, hosting the Ralph Lindeman Invitational on Jan. 19-20 and the Air Force Collegiate Open on Feb. 16. During the outdoor season, the Falcons will host their annual Twilight Open to conclude the regular season and celebrate the senior class on May 3.
The Falcons officially start the 2023-24 campaign at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in Boston on Dec. 2, while traveling to Boulder (Potts Invitational on Jan. 19-20; Colorado Invitational on Jan. 26-27), Albuquerque (UNM Team Invitational on Jan. 26-27) and Chicago (Windy City Invitational on Feb. 9-10) during the indoor season.
The first half of the season will conclude with the Mountain West Championships in Albuquerque on Feb. 22-24 and the NCAA Indoor Championships in Boston on March 8-9.
As always, the Falcons' outdoor schedule will feature trips to numerous nationally recognized competitions, including the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, Stanford Invitational, and Mike Fanelli Track Classic over the March 27-30 weekend. Air Force will make several trips to California this year, with stops at the Bryan Clay Invitational, Pacific Coast Intercollegiate, and Beach Invitational over the April 11-13 weekend and a separate trip for the Fresno State Invitational on April 26-27 – with the latter coming during a split-squad weekend that will see Falcons also compete at the famed Drakes Relays in Iowa.
Closer to home, Air Force will face off against its local foes at Colorado (Jerry Quiller Classic on March 15-16, Colorado Invitational on April 5-6), CSU Pueblo (Spank Blasing Invitational on March 22-23) and Colorado State (Doug Max Invitational on April 27).
The Mountain West Outdoor Championships will kick off the postseason on May 9-11, as the conference field heads to Clovis, Calif., for the sixth time in as many championship meets. The NCAA Outdoor Championships begin for the Falcons with the West Preliminary in Fayetteville, Ark., on May 22-25 and conclude with the championship rounds in Eugene, Ore., on June 5-8.
