Falcons Return to Action at Roadrunner Invitational

The Air Force cross country team, which includes the 17th-ranked men's squad and a women's team that is receiving votes in the national poll, travels to Denver this Saturday (Sept. 16) to compete at the Roadrunner Invitational – the first scored meet of the year.
MEET INFORMATION
The Roadrunner Invitational, hosted by MSU Denver, will take place at Washington Park (1700 E Louisiana Ave) in Denver on Saturday, Sept. 16. The women will start the day with a 6K race at 8:30 a.m., while the men will follow with an 8K race at 9:15 a.m. (MT).
COURSE INFORMATION
The Washington Park course is a relatively flat loop at 5300 feet above sea level. The women will run two 3000-meter loops, while the men's course will include one 2000-meter loop and two 3000-meter loops.
HISTORY 101
Air Force last competed at a MSU Denver competition in 2012, when a third-place finish from Gavin Owens paced the men to the team title.
FALCONS OPEN SEASON AT AFXC CLASSIC
09-01-23 | Luke Combs and India Jones picked up first-place finishes to lead their respective squads at the season-opening AFXC Classic in Colorado Springs. Combs posted a five-mile time of 25:47 around Monument Valley Park to edge out Max Sannes and Sean Maison's matching marks of 25:51, while Jones recorded the program's fifth-fastest three-mile time around Monument Valley Park to lead a trio of Falcons (Tiaree Towler, 17:22; Rachel Crytser, 17:49) to sub-18 times and top-three finishes.
THE NEXT COURSE
The Falcons travel to Charlottesville, Va., next Saturday (Sept. 23) for the Virginia Invitational at Panorama Farms – the site of this year's NCAA Cross Country Championships.
