Air Force Rolls Past Robert Morris in Season Opener, 42-7

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – Senior quarterback Zac Larrier rushed for two touchdowns, and threw for another, to lead Air Force to a 42-7 win over Robert Morris, in the 2023 season opener, Sat., Sept. 2, at Falcon Stadium, USAFA. The win marks 17-straight season-opening wins for Air Force.
The Falcon offense put up 469 yards in the game, 374 of them on the ground. Larrier, who made his first start, rushed for a career-high 99 yards. He was 2-for-3 in pass completions for 95 more yards, highlighted by an 84-yard touchdown to junior wide receiver Jared Roznos.
Senior running back John Lee Eldrige III rushed for 72 yards on four attempts, highlighted by a 65-yard run to open the third quarter. Nine Falcons registered double-digit rushing yards in the offensive effort.
The Air Force defense held RMU to just 156 total yards, highlighted by two sacks and seven tackles for loss. Seniors Johnathan Youngblood and Trey Taylor led the defense with seven and six tackles, respectively. Senior teammate PJ Ramsey had a game-high 2.5 tackles for a loss. Ramsey and James Tomasi were the only players to record a sack in the game.
The Colonials were led in offense by quarterback Anthony Chiccitt who completed 14-18 attempts (78%) for 99 yards in the air. RMU wideout Noah Robinson received for 36 yards while teammate Kimon O'Sullivan rushed for 39.
Up next, the Falcons travel to Houston, Texas, to take on Sam Houston, Saturday (Sept. 9). Action at NRG Stadium is slated for 7 p.m. CT/6 MT.
