U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – The first opportunity for the Air Force women's tennis team to test itself on the road arrives this weekend, as the Falcons head down to the University of Houston for the Houston Invite, set to begin on Friday morning.
Along with Air Force and UH, the weekend's field of competitors will also include players from UT-Arlington and Rice.
Friday opens with two rounds of doubles in the morning, followed by the opening round of singles competition; Saturday marks the conclusion of doubles play in the morning slot, proceeded by the continuation of singles in the afternoon, the final round of which will be completed on the following Sunday morning.
Competition on Friday and Sunday is set begin at 10 a.m., while Saturday's matches are scheduled for an 11 a.m. first serve.
Heading into the second weekend of fall competition, a number of Air Force competitors look to build some momentum following opening weekend at the Falcons' own Bedford Cup; Newcomers Giovanna Sanchirico and Joselyn Limbago debuted as a doubles team, going 2-1 on the way to playing in the title round of their doubles draw. Along with their doubles run, Sanchirico also bagged a three-set singles victory in the Echo draw.
Veteran Falcons Alexis Odom and Andrea Le earned a doubles main draw victory at the Bedford Cup, competing as a duo for the first time since the 2022 dual season.
