Air Force Men’s Tennis Opens 2024 at Omaha and Creighton

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's tennis opens its 2024 Spring season with road trips to Omaha and Creighton. The Falcons take on Omaha on Friday, Jan. 19 and Creighton on Saturday, Jan. 20.

About the Falcons: Air Force returns seven letterwinners off the 2022-23 team, which went 12-11 on the season. The Falcons welcome three newcomers, including two freshmen. Air Force returns its top No. 1 singles players in All-MW singles and doubles selection in junior Arjun Kersten and senior and team captain Nick Vroman. In addition, the Falcons return sophomore Phillip Deaton, the 2023 Mountain West Freshman of the Year.
Urbina takes over program: Evan Urbina enters his first season as the head coach for Air Force. Urbina helped build up the program the previous nine years as the assistant coach under Dan Oosterhous, who retired from coaching after the 2022-23 season.
About Omaha: Omaha is 1-1 on the season after opening last weekend with a 6-1 loss to Oklahoma State and 5-2 win over UTRGV.
About Creighton: Creighton is 1-1 on the season after opening last weekend with a 5-2 win over North Dakota and 7-0 loss to Nebraska.
Up next: Air Force has its home-opener Feb. 3, hosting Weber State. Competition begins at 5 pm MT.
