Air Force Falls At (RV/RV) Nevada

RENO, Nevada - Air Force men's basketball (7-7, 0-2 MW) fell to RV/RV Nevada (15-1, 2-0 MW), 67-54, in Mountain West play Tuesday night at Lawlor Events Center. Juniors Beau Becker and Ethan Taylor led the Falcons with 14 points each.
Nevada was led by the trio of guards Kenan Blackshear and Jarod Lucas and forward Nick Davidson, who combined to score 48 points. Blackshear led the Wolf Pack with 22 points. Lucas added 14 points and Davidson had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Air Force trailed 30-24 at halftime. The Falcons trailed by as many as 10 and faced got just one free throw attempt to Nevada's 12 in the opening half. Air Force closed the half with a 5-1 burst to get the game down to six at the break, capped with a three at the buzzer by Beau Becker.
Air Force found itself down double-digits early in the second half before fighting back. Down 10, the Falcons went on a 10-2 run to get the game down to four at 52-48 with 7:39 to go. Nevada out-scored the Falcons 13-6 the rest of the way to pull away.
Air Force shot 44 percent from three on the night, making 10 of 23. Both Becker and Taylor made four three's each.
The Falcons had three in double figures scoring, with Rytis Petraitis adding 13 points. Kellan Boylan led the team with nine rebounds and three steals and Jeffrey Mills had a team-high four assists.
Air Force returns to action Saturday, Jan. 13, hosting San Jose State. The game tips at 7:30 pm MT.
