Falcons Return Home to Close Out First Half of MW Season

\The Air Force volleyball team returns to the Academy this week for a pair of Mountain West contests. The Falcons will close out the first half of their home-and-home conference schedule with matches against Fresno State on Thursday, Oct. 17, and San Jose State on Saturday, Oct. 19.
MATCH INFORMATION
Thursday's match will begin at 6:00 p.m., while Saturday's contest will begin at 12:30 p.m. (MT). Both matches will be broadcast live on the Mountain West Network and the MW App, with FalconVision's Jason Carter on the call (the MW App is available for iOS, Android, Apple TV, Roku, and Android TV). SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Fresno State, last year's tournament champion, is currently 8-9 on the season and improved to 4-2 in the Mountain West following victories over UNLV (3-1) and San Diego State (3-2) last week. San Jose State, which will play at New Mexico on Thursday, enters the week at 9-3, with a 4-3 mark in the Mountain West after last week's losses to San Diego State (0-3) and UNLV (1-3). Thia week's opponents are ranked 1-2 in the conference for service aces during conference matches, as the Spartans average 1.86 per set and the Bulldogs hold a 1.67 average. Fresno State also holds a top-three ranking in digs, with a 14.63 per-set average. Individually, Fresno State's Addison Haluska leads the Mountain West in kills (4.48) and points (5.11), while San Jose State's Emma Testi averages a league-leading 0.86 aces per set

The Falcons have won their last three meetings with Fresno State and have won seven of the last eight contests at the Academy - a stretch dating back to 2016.
