Chris Hedden named AHA Defensive Player of the Month

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force junior Chris Hedden was named the Atlantic Hockey America Defensive Player of the Month for October.

A native of Kalamazoo, Mich., Hedden posted six points (4-2-6) in eight games, along with two power-play goals and 17 blocked shots. His four goals are tied for the national lead among all defensemen and his 17 blocked shots rank sixth in the nation. He assisted on the game-winner to beat Arizona State in overtime. In game one against Lindenwood, his goal tied the game as Air Force came from behind for a 3-2 win. His goal in game two against LU, also tied the game as the Falcons earned a 2-1 come-from-behind win. He enters the weekend with a point in five of the last seven games. He had a goal in three straight games from Oct. 12-20.

This is Air Force's first player of the month award this season and the second of Hedden's career (November, 2023).

Air Force (4-4-0 overall and 1-1-0 AHA) plays a pair of games against No. 8 Colorado College, Nov. 1 at Robson Arena and Nov. 2 at Cadet Ice Arena.
