
Air Force Fencing Completes Competition At Elite Invitational

Air Force fencing completed competition at the Elite Invitational this Sunday, Nov. 17, at the Tse Center on the Penn campus in Philadelphia, Pa.
The Falcons faced nine ranked opponents on the weekend, with the men pulling out a 14-13 win over #10 Duke in the opener.
The top competitors for the Falcons were freshman Shwan Lee, junior Jack Griffith and sophomore Christina Watrall.
Lee posted a 11-4 overall record in men's epee, including perfect 3-0 records against #4 Princeton and #7 Penn. Griffith led the men's foil group with eight wins, with winning records against Duke, #2 Notre Dame, Princeton and Penn. Watrall competed in just six bouts, but claimed three wins total, including one over #6 Duke and a 2-0 mark against #11 Temple.
Sophomore Jackson Houtz led the men's saber group with six wins. Junior Mira Vestel led the women's saber group with five wins. Freshman Keira Lonadier led the women's epee group with five wins.
The Falcons return to action Jan. 3-6 at the January NAC in Kansas City, Mo.
