SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
UNLV moved to 13-14 overall and 6-10 in the conference after splitting a road swing with Utah State (3-2 loss) and Nevada (3-1 win) last week, while San Diego State fell to those same teams by 1-3 marks to enter the week at 17-9 overall, with a 9-7 mark in Mountain West play (the Aztecs will host New Mexico on Thursday). San Diego State is ranked third in the conference in hitting with a .240 average, while also ranking top-five in assists (12.06 third), kills (12.91, fourth), digs (14.26, third), and blocks (2.39, fourth), while UNLV is listed second in blocking with a 2.54 per-set average. Air Force is 11-41 all-time against San Diego State, with nine of those wins coming in the last decade. The Falcons have two wins during their 25-match history inside Peterson Gym, with the most recent coming during a five-setter last season.
