USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's basketball (2-5) dropped a 63-61 contest to Sacramento State (2-4) Wednesday afternoon as part of the Cal Classic MTE at Clune Arena. Senior guard Jeffrey Mills led the Falcons with 19 points.
The Falcons failed to hold a 17-point lead, as the Hornets walked out of Clune with the win.
Bailey Nunn hit a pair of free throws with 12 seconds left in regulation for Sacramento State to take the 63-61 lead. The Falcons had one last chance to tie or take the lead, but were unable to get a shot off with the pressure defense applied by the Hornets as time expired.
Air Force played a strong first-half, taking a 33-22 lead. It was the second-straight game, that the Falcons had taken a lead into halftime.
Sacramento State opened the second half with a 10-0 run to quickly pull to within one. The game was back-and-forth the rest of the way.
Air Force struggled to find its shot all game, shooting 35 percent from the field and 29 percent from three. The Falcons got to the free throw line 29 times, but shot just 59 percent. The Falcons did a good job of taking care of the ball, with a season-low six turnovers.

Senior Ethan Taylor added 11 points, to go with eight rebounds and five assists. Sophomore Caleb Walker added seven points and six rebounds off the bench.
Guards EJ Neal and Julian Vaughns led the Hornets with 12 points each. Air Force held Sacramento State to 39 percent shooting from the field.
