Air Force Downed By Wright State at Stars, Stripes, Flight Classic

DAYTON, Ohio - Air Force men's basketball dropped a 70-57 contest at Wright State (4-4) Saturday night in front of a crowd of 9,672 at the Stars, Stripes and Flight Classic at the Nutter Center. Sophomore center Wesley Celichowski led the Falcons with 15 points.
Wright State shot 52 percent from the field and the inside-outside combo of guard Alex Huibregtse and forward Brandon Noel combined for 43 points. Huibregtse made his first six three-point attempts and finished with 20 points. Noel scored 23 points, with 17 coming in the second half
Air Force fell behind 36-23 at the half. Huibregtse hurt the Falcons by making 5-of-5 three attempts to finish with 17 points at the break.
The Falcons got down by as many as 21 in the second half, but closed by out-scoring WSU 25-14 over the final nine minutes of play.
Celichowski was 5 of 10 from the field and got to the free throw line six times. Joining Celichowski in double-figures was senior guard Ethan Taylor with 11 points. Taylor hit three three's, adding four rebounds and three assists.
Sophomore forwards Luke Kearney and Caleb Walker led the bench with nine points each. Freshman Will Cooper played a career-high 22 minutes, adding four points and five rebounds.
Air Force out-rebounded Wright State 40-24. It was the most rebounds in a game by the Falcons since 2022. Senior guard Byron Brown had a career-high 11 rebounds and senior guard Jeffrey Mills had a season-high eight.
Air Force returns to action Monday, Dec. 2, at Miami (Ohio). The game tips at 7 pm ET at Millett Hall in Oxford, Ohio and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
