Falcons Return Home to Host Utah State, Nevada

The Air Force volleyball team returns to the Academy this week for a pair of Mountain West contests against Utah State and Nevada. The Falcons will host the Aggies at 6:00 p.m. (MT) on Thursday, Nov. 7, before welcoming the Wolfpack to Cadet East Gym at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 9.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Utah State, winners of its last four matches, are 11-11 overall, while holding an 8-4 mark in Mountain West play. The Aggies are ranked second in the conference in hitting with a .274 average, while holding that same MW standing in kills (13.98) and assists (12.91). Individually, Colorado Springs' native Tierney Barlow leads the league with a .443 hitting percentage and is one of two Aggies to average more than one block per set in conference action. Nevada, who will play at New Mexico on Thursday, enters the week with a 4-8 mark in conference play and an 11-12 record. The Wolfpack are tied for fifth in the Mountain West in aces with a 1.55 per-set average, while Gabby McLaughlin is ranked third in both kills (4.11) and points (4.53). Utah State and Nevada faced each other last week, with the Aggies sweeping the Wolfpack in Logan on Oct 29. The teams also split contests with Boise State, as Utah State earned a 3-1 win on Oct. 3 and Nevada fell in straight sets on Nov. 2.
