Air Force Falls To UNLV

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's basketball (8-17, 1-12 MW) fell 72-43 to UNLV (15-10, 8-5 MW) in Mountain West play Wednesday night at Clune Arena. Junior guard Ethan Taylor led the Falcons with 17 points.
UNLV utilized a punishing inside game with 40 points in the paint and a 44-19 advantage in rebounds. Forward Rob Whaley Jr. led three Rebels in double-figures with 15 points.
Air Force struggled on offense, shooting 35 percent from the field and 18 percent from three.
Taylor was the lone Falcon to reach double figures, adding three three's, two assists and two steals. Taylor's three three's gave him 74 for the season, moving him into eight place at Air Force for most three's made in a season.
Air Force had a season-high eight blocked shots. Sophomore Rytis Petraitis and junior Byron Brown had career-high's for blocks with Petraitis swatting four and Brown three.
Freshman Luke Kearney was the top scorer off the bench with five points. Freshman Wyatt Boeker made his collegiate debut, dishing out an assist in reserve.
Air Force returns to action Saturday, Feb. 24 at New Mexico. The game tips at 2 pm MT.
