Falcons shoot season-low score in Arizona

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – In the second round of the Loyola Intercollegiate, the Air Force golf team shot a season-best 287 on Monday, Feb. 26, at the Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Ariz.

The 287 is the best round since the Falcons shot a 283 in the spring of 2020.

Junior Cameron Kahle led the Falcons with a career-best 67 (-5), the best round by a Falcon since the spring of 2021. Kahle carded seven birdies, including a stretch of four birdies in five holes.

Freshman Eli Huntington finished the second round with a two-under-par 70 after five birdies on the day. Sophomore Brooks Morrell shot 74 (+2) for the second straight day. Senior Aaron Kuznik shot a 76 and sophomore Alvaro Fonseca shot 77.

Huntington is the top Falcon after 36 holes with a 144 (even). Kahle sits at 146, while Fonseca, Morrell and Kuznik are all tied at 148.

Air Force is tied for 15^th place, with Eastern Michigan, with a 36-hole team score of 578 (+2). North Dakota State leads the field with a 550 (-26) after shooting 275 each day. Loyola Maryland, the host school, is second at 554 and Northern Colorado is third at 559.

The final round of the Loyola Intercollegiate begins at 7:45 am MST, Tuesday, Feb. 27, in Goodyear, Ariz.
