Air Force Men’s Tennis Falls To #36 Denver

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's tennis dropped a 5-2 contest to Denver (14-0) Saturday afternoon at the USAFA Indoor Tennis Courts.

Freshman Alec Fritzinger and sophomore Jack Brown picked up wins for the Falcons in singles play.

Denver opened by winning the doubles points with wins at No. 2 and 3.

The Pioneers went up 3-0 with wins at No. 2 and 3 singles. Fritzinger got the Falcons on the board with a win at No. 4 over Rikuto Yamaguchi in straight sets 7-5, 7- 6 (8).

Denver clinched with a win at No. 1 singles. Brown then won at No. 5 over Anish Shriniketh 6-1, 6-3.

Head Coach Evan Urbina on the Match:
"We had a full team effort today against a tough Denver team. We had great energy on all courts, and we competed the entire time. Pressure moments were happening consistently today, and the momentum shifted back and forth several times.

Freshman Alec Fritzinger played an excellent singles match. He was down 3-0 in the first and just continued to build and work his way into it. Jack Brown came out strong in doubles and singles and showed tremendous improvement from his last performance.

We were extremely close on AJ and Phillip's courts. We had our chances and both guys competed the entire time. Arjun brought the energy all day.

We will learn from today and continue to improve as we begin conference play the next time we compete during Spring Break.
