Air Force Places 12th At NCAA Fencing Championships

Air Force fencing placed 12th at the 2024 NCAA Fencing Championships, which ran Thurs.-Sun, March 21-24 at French Field House and St. John Arena on the Ohio State University campus in Columbus, Ohio.

The Falcons tallied 41 wins on the weekend, ranking second to Stanford amongst MPSF programs. Harvard claimed the national title with 169 wins.

Sophomore Jack Griffith, making his second appearance at the NCAA's, led the way for Air Force with a ninth-place finish in men's foil. Griffith earned All-America Honorable Mention Honors with 14 victories across competition on Saturday and Sunday.

Freshman James Jang made his NCAA's debut, also in men's foil. Jang placed 23rd with five victories.

On the women's side, freshman Christina Watrall and senior Josie Ratzlaff competed for the Falcons in women's epee. Watrall, making her NCAA debut, placed 13th with 11 victories. Ratzlaff, making her fourth NCAA's appearance, finished 14th with 11 victories.

Air Force concludes the 2023-24 season with the All-Academy Duels on April 6 at Army West Point in West Point, NY.
