Braeden Holcombe Wraps Opening Day of Texas Relays Decathlon

AUSTIN, Texas -- Air Force senior Braeden Holcombe amassed the second-highest Day 1 decathlon total of his career this afternoon (March 27), as he registered 3652 points during the opening day of the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin. With that total, Holcombe is 11th after five events.
Holcombe's best outing came during the high jump, where he tied for second with an outdoor-best clearance of 6'5". Contributing to his Day 1 score was an 11.46 in the 100-meter dash, a 21'7½" in the long jump, a 40'7¾" in the shot put and a 50.85 in the 400-meter dash.
Holcombe returns to Mike A Myers Stadium tomorrow (March 28) for the final five events of the decathlon, while his teammates begin action at the Texas Relays and at the Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos.
