Thomason, who was 4-4 with an intentional walk, drove in six runs and scored five times. Thomason initiated his day with a base-hit up the middle in the 1st before connecting on a grand slam in the 2nd.
In the 3rd, the senior doubled to deep left field before being intentionally walked in the 4th. In his final plate appearance, Thomason led off the 6th by lining the first pitch of the inning into the right-center gap. Never taking his foot off the gas, Thomason raced into third to complete the cycle.
The cycle is Air Force's first since Braydon Altorfer accomplished the feat on May 9, 2021. As well, Thomason's 2nd inning grand slam gives him eight this season and 45 in his career, as he now sits just five home runs shy of tying Nic Ready for the program record.
In what was a wildly successful afternoon for nearly all of the Falcons lineup, Sam Kulasingam was 3-6 with a double and 3 RBIs, while Charlie Jones was 3-4 with a double and a career-high 4 RBIs.
Jake Greiving also had three hits in four at-bats, providing two doubles, 2 RBIs, and a stolen base. Zach Peters continues to produce as his name becomes a constant in the lineup, going 1-3, adding a double and 2 RBIs.
Aerik Joe swung to a 2-4 line, hitting a triple and scoring three times to go with 2 RBIs and a stolen base. Jack Bello had his second multi-hit day of the season, while his 2 RBIs are a single-game best in his Air Force career. He reached base in four of his five plate appearances.
Chase Spencer reached base in three of his six plate appearances, and at the same time, Walker Zapp doubled and walked in five at-bats.
In the 6th, Van Klein stepped up to the plate as a pinch-hitter and made good on the at-bat, sending a two-run single into left-center to not only bring in his first two career runs, but the single stands as his first collegiate hit.
In total, the Falcons managed seven doubles, two triples, and a home run, as Air Force's 23 runs, 21 hits, 21 RBIs, seven doubles, and two triples all stand as new season bests. In total, Air Force was 21-36 (.583) at the plate on Tuesday. All nine starters in the Falcons lineup recorded at least one hit.
Bowen Brantingham made his first collegiate start and did well in a limited outing. Over 3.2 innings, the freshman allowed just one earned run, surrendering just four hits. The wins becomes the first in Brantingham's college career.
Kyle Moats tossed 0.2 innings while allowing three runs. Gaines Estridge accrued 1.2 innings, giving up a run as the result of three hits. Patrick Davidson, in his only inning, threw a scoreless 7th, working around a hit and a walk to go with his two strikeouts.
Next, Air Force will host #15 Dallas Baptist in a non-conference weekend series beginning Friday, April 12.
