Thomason Breaks Home Run Record
-Jay Thomason entered the Falcons April 23 ballgame at Northern Colorado tied with Nic Ready for the most home runs in an Air Force career, and he departed Jackson Field having broken the deadlock. Thomason slugged his 14th home run of the spring and the 51st of his Falcon career in his first plate appearance, surpassing Ready's record of 50 career homers set in 2019. Having also hit his 52nd career home run on April 27th, he now sits just two home runs shy of tying BYU's Sean McNaughton's Mountain West career home run record of 54 set in 2010.
-As well, Thomason leads Air Force in batting average (.345), slugging (.696), OBP (.446), runs scored (53), hits (58), RBIs (38), total bases (117) and walks (26).
Here Comes the Chuckster
-Sophomore Charlie Jones, after missing the first month of the season, has been a mainstay in the Falcons lineup.
-In 26 games, Jones owns a .356 batting average with a 1.005 OPS.
-His 17-game hitting streak came to an end on April 21, though is 9-23 (.391) with a hit in each of the last eight games.
-Though not qualified, Jones' .356 average and .451 OBP would lead the team.
