The Falcons travel to Sunny California to take on UC San Diego in the hunt for first win of the season, Sunday, September 15. Action at Triton Soccer Stadium is slated for a 7 p.m. PT start.
THE SERIES
The teams are meeting for the second time in program history. The Falcons and Tritons met for the first time last season where UCSD bested AF, 2-0, at the Air Force Academy.
SWITCH IN GOAL
Sophomore keeper Will Collins, who had an .813 save percentage and 1.5 GAA in two career appearances, was injured in the second minute of the third game of the season. Filling in was freshman keeper Brody Smith who made an incredible 10 saves against a talented Washington team in his collegiate debut. Both keepers are active for the UCSD match.

Air Force returns to the Academy to host UC Riverside on Friday, September 20. Action at Cadet Soccer Stadium is set for 6 p.m. MT. A live stream will be available for the match on the ESPN+ platform.
LAST TIME OUT
The Falcons gained a positive result at Michigan State, playing Sparty to a draw, 1-1, Friday evening. On Sunday, AF traveled to Kalamazoo to take on No. 4 Western Michigan. The Broncos outscored the Falcons, 5-1. Ridge Owen and Nick Bisagno were credited with a goal apiece, respectively.

UTAH VALLEY REMAINS ONLY WAC UNBEATEN
Utah Valley remained the only WAC men's soccer member with an unbeaten record in non-conference play following matches on Sept. 9. The Wolverines won a pair of matches in Florida last week to improve to 4-0-1 (.900). UTRGV (2-1-0, .667), Seattle U (2-1-1, .625) and California Baptist (1-1-2, .500) each had only one defeat following three weeks of non-conference action.
WOLVERINES REGISTER FIRST TWO SHUTOUTS OF THE SEASON
Utah Valley earned its first two clean sheets of 2024 during a road trip in the state of Florida. The Wolverines blanked Florida Atlantic 1-0 on Sept. 5 and added a 2-0 win at Florida Gulf Coast on Sept. 8. UVU's Omar Yehya (Offensive), Tom Dobek-Pietrowski (Defensive) and Ben Williams (Goalkeeper) swept WAC weekly men's soccer awards after the successful road trip. Yehya had two goals and one assist, Williams registered 10 total saves and the UVU defense allowed only three combined shots on goal in the second half over the weekend.
NUTORNUTSI NETS HIS FIFTH GOAL OF 2024
Grand Canyon forward Bright Nutornutsi cashed in his fifth goal of the 2024 campaign in just his fourth start, volleying in a circus shot in the 19th minute after assisting on the match winner in a 2-0 win over Omaha on Sept. 6. Nutornutsi was tied for fifth overall in goals scored in NCAA Division I as of Sept. 9.
SEATTLE U MOVES INTO UNITED SOCCER COACHES TOP 10, GCU DEBUTS IN TOP DRAWER SOCCER TOP 25
Seattle U moved up two places to ninth in this week's United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I men's soccer rankings at 2-1-1 on the season. The Redhawks jumped seven spots to No. 15 in the Top Drawer Soccer DI top 25. Grand Canyon debuted at 16 in the TDS DI top 25 after receiving votes once more in the United Soccer Coaches poll.
WEEK FOUR OF NON CONFERENCE SET TO COMMENCE
The fourth week of non conference soccer gets started for WAC members with a pair of matches on Wednesday evening. Highlights of the upcoming week include unbeaten Utah Valley hosting Cal Poly (Sept. 13) and Lindenwood (Sept. 16), Grand Canyon traveling to Santa Clara (Sept. 12) before welcoming Cal State Fullerton (Sept. 15) at home, and California Baptist playing host to CSUN (Sept. 11) and No. 21 San Diego (Sept. 16) in Riverside.
LEADING FROM THE FRONT
The Falcons named Kobey Stoup and Carter Rizzo team captains for the 2024 campaign. Stoup is the veteran defensive leader with 40 career starts in 46 career matches played, clocking over 3,300 minutes played for the Falcons. Rizzo played in every match of the 2023 season, scoring one goal on 16 shot attempts.
