U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – The Air Force golf team is tied for 10th place after two rounds of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational, Sunday, Sept. 22, at the Eisenhower Golf Course.
The Falcons shot an even par 288 in the second round, the team's best round of the season, and are tied for 10th place at 588. Colorado State leads the 22-team field at 567. San Jose State is second at 569, followed by Utah State (575) and UC Santa Barbara (576).
Sophomore Eli Huntington led the Falcons with a season best 70 (-2), tied as the third-best round of his career. Junior Brooks Morrell shot a 71 (-1), the second-best round of his career, followed by Cameron Kahle (73), Chris Park (74) and Carson Baker (78). Morrell is tied for 15th overall with an even-par 144. CSU's Matthew Wilkinson sits atop the leaderboard with a 135 (-9).
In the individual event on the Silver Course, CSU's Roy Williamson lead the 41-person field with a 135 (-9), followed by Wyoming's Davis Seybert (137) and San Jose State's Alaric Mercie (138). Air Force junior Eric Liveringhouse is sixth with a 143 (-1). Ted Davenport is at 146, followed by Alvaro Fonseca (147), Grant Samuelson (154) and Jackson Scaletta (155).
The final round of the 55th Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational is Monday, Sept. 22, at the Eisenhower Golf Course. The team competition begins with tee times starting at 7:30 am on the Blue Course. The final round of the individual competition begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 am on the Silver Course.
