Volleyball Set to Host New Mexico in Tuesday Night Block Party

The Air Force volleyball team opens the second week of conference play on Tuesday (Oct. 1), when it closes out a three-match homestand hosting New Mexico at the Cadet East Gym. The match between the two travel partners, which headlines the Mountain West Network's Tuesday Night Block Party, is the first contest of a busy week that includes a road trip to Boise State on Thursday, Oct. 3.
MATCH INFORMATION
The Falcons' home match with the Lobos is the featured contest of this week's Tuesday Night Block Party, on the Mountain West Network. The 6:00 p.m. (MT) match will be broadcast live on the MWN and MW App, with Air Force's own Jason Carter on the call. Thursday's road match at Boise State will also be aired on the MW Network, while live stats will be available for both matches. SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
New Mexico went 1-1 during the opening weekend of Mountain West play to move to 8-4 overall. The Lobos fell to UNLV in four on Thursday, before holding on for a five-set victory over San Deigo State on Saturday. Boise State is 8-5 overall after starting league play with an 0-2 mark. The Broncos dropped a 3-2 decision to Fresno State in the opener, before forfeiting their second match.

The Falcons are 7-44 all-time against New Mexico, but won their last home contest with the Lobos in 2022. Air Force also has seven wins against Boise State (7-18), with last season's sweep in Boise marking the program's first-ever win on the Bronco's home court.

After the first weekend of Mountain West play, Grace Fiaseu is ranked third in the conference with a .516 hitting average. The Falcons boast two of the league's top 10 in kills, with Ashley Bible ranking seventh (3.50) and Ella Tschuor tying for 10th (3.38). Air Force captured a thrilling 3-1 win over UNLV on Sept. 28 – marking the Falcons' first victory over the Rebels since 2018 and just the sixth in the 54-match history between the two schools. Air Force, who had lost nine-straight UNLV prior to the 25-23, 20-25, 25-21, 25-21 win at the Academy, have now seen four of its six wins over the Rebels come in four sets.
SNAPPING A STREAK
The Falcons' four-set win over UNLV snapped an 11-match losing skid that dated back to the season-opeing win over Fordham.
