
Women’s Tennis Downs Northern Iowa 6-1

WATERLOO, Iowa – Air Force Women's Tennis, in its first road test of the 2025 dual season, continued its hot start to the 2025 dual season, as the Falcons took down Northern Iowa, 6-1, on Friday afternoon at UNI's Black Hawk Tennis Center.
The Falcons improve to 4-0 on the season in doubles play, as Air Force picked up wins on lines two and three to secure the opening point of the match. Senior Alexis Odom and Freshman Maya Michalski picked up a 6-0 sweep of UNI's Kim Zizek/Kanyanut Sudsaard to remain undefeated on the season (3-0); Sophomore pair Joselyn Limbago/Giovanna Sanchirico, competing in their first doubles match of the season against Abbie Peterson/Lasya Mylavarapu, secured a 6-2 victory to start the year 1-0.
In singles, Air Force claimed straight-set wins on lines one through five. Odom, facing off with UNI senior Darta Dalecka on line one, picked up a 6-2 first-set win, before securing her point with a 6-4 battle down the second. With the win, Odom improves to 2-2 in dual singles action after back-to-back victories.
Kojonroj, facing Lorena Cardoso on court two, picked up her third-straight win, defeating Cardoso, 6-0, 6-3, improving to 3-1 on the season. The win also represents Kojonroj's third 6-0 set this season and fifth/sixth-consecutive set victories.
On line three, junior Arianna Van Houweling improved to 2-1 in singles play with an unblemished, 6-0, 6-0 win over UNI's Kim Zizek; Sanchirico, competing on the fourth flight for the first time this season, defeated Andjela Raznatovic, 6-2, 6-4, on the way to her third singles win of the season; Michalski, in her first singles showing of the spring season, downed UNI junior Sudsaard, 6-1, 6-2, on the way to her first career dual singles victory.
Air Force's one loss of the day was a razor-thin super tiebreak finish; Limbago, up against Peterson on line six, split the opening two sets with a pair of 6-3 finishes, before narrowly falling, 13-11.
As a team, the Falcons improved to 9-1 (.900) in doubles sets and a 15-6 (.714) record in dual singles.
