Women’s Tennis Falls to Minnesota

AMES, Iowa – Capping off a week in which the Air Force Women's Tennis team played four matches in seven days, the Falcons hit a wall on Saturday in Ames, Iowa, falling 4-0 to Minnesota at the Iowa State Tennis Facility.

The Falcons (3-2, 0-0 MW) fell in the doubles point on lines two (Alexis Odom/Maya Michalski, 6-3) and three (Sofia Mavor/Shivaani Selvan, 6-2). The Falcons' top doubles flight – Sophomore Nadia Kojonroj and junior Arianna Van Houweling – capped a 2-0 weekend with a 6-4 win over Minnesota's Mia Lepert/Anali Kocevar, improving to 3-1 as a pair to start the 2025 spring season.

In singles competition, Air Force went down on lines one, five and six; Odom, facing Ava Schmitz on the top court, went down in a 6-4, 6-3 battle; Selvan, on court five, fell 6-3, 6-3 Jeselle Ante and Sofia Pinto won on line six over Giovanna Sanchirico, 6-4, 6-0, rounding out the 4-0 victory for the Falcons' Big Ten opponent.
