Air Force opens season with win over UTEP

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – The Air Force rifle team opened the season with a 4690-4689 win over UTEP in a dual meet Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Cadet Rifle Range.
Senior team captain Victoria Leppert led the Falcons with an aggregate score of 1178, followed by freshman Prisha Thomas (1175) and freshman Lily Miller (1170The Falcons claimed four of the the top five spots in smallbore with Leppert (583), Thomas (583), Miller (581) and Bethany Butler (581). The Falcons took two of the top three in air rifle with Leppert (595) and Megan Torrence (594).
Air Force returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 25, when the Falcons host a five-team meet at the Cadet Rifle Range as TCU, Alaska, Georgia Southern and Schriners will all be competing.
