Falcons Fall to San Jose State in Straight Sets

SAN JOSE, Calif., - The Air Force volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to San Jose State this afternoon (Oct. 11), as it wrapped up its California road swing with a 23-25, 16-25, 23-25 loss on the Spartans' home floor. The Falcons are now .500 in Mountain West play (3-3) and hold an 11-7 overall record.

Senior Ashley Bible recorded a match-high 14 kills, while classmate Alex Hatchett added eight strikes during a team-leading .533 hitting performance (8-0-15). A trio of sophomores accounted for all of the Falcons' blocks on Saturday, as Bella Christensen and Grace Fiaseu teamed up for four stops and Alysa Walker added a pair of solo blocks. Senior Jordan Suan tallied 15 digs and served up two of the team's three aces, while freshman Sam Pope recorded the first double-double of her career with 12 additional digs and a team-high 18 assists.

Air Force returns to the Academy next week for a pair of conference contests at Cadet East Gym. The Falcons will host Colorado State on Thursday, Oct. 18, before welcoming Wyoming in a rematch on Saturday, Oct. 20.
