Falcons Wrap up Another Round of Friday Night Fights

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. -- Seven members of the Air Force boxing team picked up victories this afternoon (Oct. 17) during Friday Night Fights at the Academy. Four women and 10 men stepped into the ring of the Cadet Gym Boxing Room for the third installment of the squad's intrasquad competition.
The women kicked off the night, as sophomore newcomer Madei Soluren and senior Charlotte McPhee-Gillum posted the first two wins of the night. Soluren earned a 126-pound decision over freshman Addison Eldridge, while McPhee-Gillum followed with a 121-pound win over junior Sierra Dace.
Freshman Garrett Ford claimed the men's first win of the night, defeating classmate Brock Buak in a 160-pound battle, while fellow freshman Hayden Boone earned a 157-pound win over first-year boxer Braxton Galat. Senior Neo Takazawa claimed a 164-pound decision over classmate Steven Rasizzi, before a pair of underclassmen capped the event with victories. Freshman Ayo Aweh decisioned sophomore Cameron Edwards at 175 pounds and freshman Oude Owino captured a hard-hitting 195-pound decision over junior Jake Chambers, who is spending the semester at Air Force as part of the exchange program with eh U.S. Coast Guard Academy.
Air Force returns to action next Friday (Oct. 24), when they travel to Detroit for the annual Chuck Davey Invitational against Army West Point and Navy at the historic Detroit Athletic Club.
