Kinoshita's Brace Lifts Falcons Over Nevada, 4-2

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – The Falcons (6-6-3, 4-2-1 MW) notched their sixth win of the 2025 season with a 4-2 victory over Nevada (2-11-2, 1-5-1) on Sunday afternoon at Cadet Soccer Stadium. Air Force's offense came alive with a season-high four goals, including a brace from freshman Sammi Kinoshita, the first this season for the Falcons. Chase Borntreger and Zahra Friess each added one goal to the score.

Trishelle Lopez recorded five saves in goal, while Eleanor Musgrove tallied a pair of assists. Friess, Kendall Rippley, and Annika Jost each added one.

Before kickoff, Air Force honored Addie Doyle who courageously battled and beat thyroid cancer as part of the team's Cancer Awareness Match.

The Falcons struck early, taking a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute when Rippley found Borntreger in the midfield. Borntreger broke through the Wolf Pack defense to net her third goal of the season. Nevada equalized ten minutes later with a free kick that sailed over Lopez's reach, but Friess quickly restored the lead in the 35th minute after driving up the middle and sending a clean finish to the back of the net.

Air Force added a third before halftime as Musgrove advanced up the right wing and connected with Friess, who crossed to Kinoshita for her first collegiate goal.

Nevada narrowed the gap to 3-2 in the 58th minute, but the Falcons sealed the win when Kinoshita headed in her second goal of the day off assists from Musgrove and Jost, clinching the 4-2 victory.

The Falcons hit the road for their final regular-season trip, visiting San Jose State on Thursday, Oct. 23, at 7:30 p.m. PT / 8:30 p.m. MT.
