SAN JOSE, Calif., - Air Force women's soccer (6-6-3, 4-2-1) heads west for their final regular season away match at San Jose State (1-11-3, 0-4-3) on Thursday October 23. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. PT/8:30 p.m. MT.

All-Time Versus the Spartans
Air Force has played a total of 12 matches against Nevada, dating back to the first matchup in 1996, a home 2-1 win for the Falcons. AFA holds an overall losing record of 3-7-2, and a home record of 2-3-1. The most recent Air Force win was in 2023, 2-1.
Last Time Out
The Falcons (6-6-3, 4-2-1 MW) notched their sixth win of the 2025 season with a 4-2 victory over Nevada (2-11-2, 1-5-1) on Sunday afternoon at Cadet Soccer Stadium. Air Force's offense came alive with a season-high four goals, including a brace from freshman Sammi Kinoshita, the first this season for the Falcons. Chase Borntreger and Zahra Friess each added one goal to the score.
Trishelle Lopez recorded five saves in goal, while Eleanor Musgrove tallied a pair of assists. Friess, Kendall Rippley, and Annika Jost each added one.
Before kickoff, Air Force honored Addie Doyle who courageously battled and beat thyroid cancer as part of the team's Cancer Awareness Match.
The Falcons struck early, taking a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute when Rippley found Borntreger in the midfield. Borntreger broke through the Wolf Pack defense to net her third goal of the season. Nevada equalized ten minutes later with a free kick that sailed over Lopez's reach, but Friess quickly restored the lead in the 35th minute after driving up the middle and sending a clean finish to the back of the net.
Air Force added a third before halftime as Musgrove advanced up the right wing and connected with Friess, who crossed to Kinoshita for her first collegiate goal.
Nevada narrowed the gap to 3-2 in the 58th minute, but the Falcons sealed the win when Kinoshita headed in her second goal of the day off assists from Musgrove and Jost, clinching the 4-2 victory.
In Attack Mode
The Falcons are averaging 1.60 goals per game, with 24 total on the year. The attackers have been active in the final third with 14.3 shots per game, 214 combined shots, of which 93 were on goal. Nine individual Falcons have scored at least one goal, while Annika Jost currently leads Air Force with 12 points off five goals and two assists. Right behind Jost, Chase Borntreger has logged a trio of goals and three assists for nine points. Junior Kendall Rippley has scored three goals for Air Force with two assist to earn eight points.
Holding the Line
Defensively, Jordan Dillingham has totaled a team-high 1,195 minutes playing an aggressive backline along with one goal against Northern Colorado, the first of her career. Team captain Samantha Sharp and Raine Komata, along with Ava Carpentier have made statements in the midfield, making strong decisions to begin the attack and apply pressure to opponents.
Freshmen on Fire
The Falcon freshmen have been showing up in full force, with AJ Heap, Zahra Friess, Sammi Kinoshita, Ellie MccCarron, and Trishelle Lopez making statements. Heap scored her first collegiate goal against Northern Colorado. The Ogden, Utah native has totaled 17 shots with seven on goal in her 696 minutes of play, across 12 starts and appearances in all 15 matches. Friess has played 470 minutes and scored a trio of goals with one assist for seven points. During an exciting game against Nevada, Kinoshita recorded her first pair of collegiate goals for the Falcons' first brace of the season, earning her MW Freshman of the Week honors. McCarron has taken three starts with an appearance in every match and logged three assists.
In Goal
Freshman, Trishelle Lopez, has claimed the starting spot in 13 Falcon matches this season to total 1170 minutes of play. The Cape Coral, Fla., native has managed 52 saves for a .722 save percentage. She posted a season-best performance against Rutgers, collecting her first collegiate shutout, a career-high six saves, and USAFA's Cadet Athlete of the Week honors. Lopez has recorded a trio of six-save matches.
Lopez earned her second career shutout in a 1-0 win at Wyoming while making eight saves across two matches to earn Mountain West Freshman of the Week, the Falcons' first weekly award of the 2025 season.
Veteran goalkeeper, Kylie McElroy has taken a pair of starts to open the season, most recently at Gonzaga. She asserted her dominance in goal, collecting her first shutout of the season, 2-0, and recording a season-high seven saves.
How Air Force Stacks Up
The Falcons are currently ranked second in the Mountain West, behind Boise State. Their 24 goals, 1.60 goals/game, and 69 points line up at third in the MW. Air Force's 21 assists and 1.40 assists per game sit at fourth overall. The goalkeepers' combined 64 saves are ranked eighth. Annika Jost is tied in seventh for goals (5) and goals/game (0.33), along with ninth in points (13). Trishelle Lopez's 4.00 saves per game and 52 total saves sit at fifth in conference play.
A Look at San Jose State
The Spartans hold an overall record of 1-11-3 and are currently last in the conference standings. They are coming off a 4-1 loss to Colorado State played on Sunday October 19. Paige Pineda Allamus is responsible for a team-high 11 points, off five goals and one assist. Overall, Nevada has recorded 12 goals, averaging 0.80 per game, with 66 shots on goal out of 153 attempts. On the defensive side, goalkeeper Paige Fry has managed 71 saves while allowing 26 goals.
