
Falcons Open at MW Qualifier

LAS VEGAS – On Thursday, Air Force Women's Tennis opened competition in the Mountain West Fall Qualifier, vying for automatic bids into this year's NCAA Division I Individual Championships.
In the Round of 32, senior Arianna Van Houweling scored her fifth consecutive win this fall, defeating New Mexico's Lea Malazdra, 6-2, 6-0. Van Houweling's fifth straight set win in open singles improved her to 8-1 on the season. Junior Nadia Kojonroj and freshman Yule Kang both fell in straight sets.
In doubles, the two Falcon pairs split on the day. Van Houweling and Kojonroj, competing as the two seed among the 16-team field, improved to 4-1 in fall doubles with an 8-4 win against Boise State's Allison Issacs/Masa Virant, scoring their second-straight victory.
