
Air Force Hosts Fresno State for Senior Day

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo., - The Falcons (7-6-3, 5-2-1) will play their final home match of the regular season against Fresno State (6-5-5, 3-3-2) on Sunday October 26 at 11 a.m. MT. Prior to the beginning of the match, Air Force will honor their six seniors with a special recognition ceremony beginning at 10:15 a.m.

Base Access
Access procedures at the U.S. Air Force Academy continue to affect athletic events. While the installation remains open, anyone without a DoD ID card must obtain a visitor pass to enter the base.
New this year: Passes will now be issued monthly instead of requiring a separate submission for each event. This means ticket holders only need to complete the form once per month to gain access to all events during that time. Ticket holders can request a base pass using this link.

Air Force women's soccer (7-6-3, 5-2-1) clinched a spot in the Mountain West Conference Tournament, marking their first appearance since 2017, with their 4-2 win over San Jose State (1-12-3, 0-5-3), on Thursday evening at Spartan Soccer Complex. The Falcons saw their first hat trick since 2021 from Annika Jost, who also recorded an assist, and one goal from Zahra Friess. Defensively, Trishelle Lopez and Syndey Nelms combined for six saves.
The Falcons struck early and often in the first half to take control with a 3-0 lead. In the eighth minute, a goal kick from Lopez sent the ball downfield to Jost, who buried it in the top left corner with assists from Lauren Steinlage and AJ Heap. Ten minutes later, Air Force capitalized on a penalty kick from Jost to double their advantage. The offensive surge continued as Sammi Kinoshita set up Jost's third goal at the 34-minute mark, securing her first career hat trick and the team's first of the season. On the other end, the Falcon defense held strong, with Lopez making a pair of key saves to keep the Spartans scoreless.
After halftime, Jost sent a forward pass to freshman Friess, who fired past San Jose State's goalkeeper to notch the Falcons' fourth goal of the evening in the 65th minute. The Spartans fired back with a pair of goals in the last ten minutes of the match for a final score of 4-2.

The Falcons are averaging 1.75 goals per game, with 28 total on the year. The attackers have been active in the final third with 14.3 shots per game, 228 combined shots, of which 97 were on goal. Nine individual Falcons have scored at least one goal, while Annika Jost currently leads Air Force with 20 points off eight goals and four assists. She recorded Air Force's first hat trick since 2021 in the first half of a 4-2 win over San Jose State, while also earning an assist in the same match. Behind Jost, Chase Borntreger has logged a trio of goals and three assists for nine points. Junior Kendall Rippley has scored three goals for Air Force with two assist to earn eight points.

Freshman, Trishelle Lopez, has claimed the starting spot in 14 Falcon matches this season to total 1215 minutes of play. The Cape Coral, Fla., native has managed 54 saves for a .730 save percentage. She posted a season-best performance against Rutgers, collecting her first collegiate shutout, a career-high six saves, and USAFA's Cadet Athlete of the Week honors. Lopez has recorded a trio of six-save matches.
Lopez earned her second career shutout in a 1-0 win at Wyoming while making eight saves across two matches to earn Mountain West Freshman of the Week, the Falcons' first weekly award of the 2025 season.
Veteran goalkeeper, Kylie McElroy has taken a pair of starts to open the season, most recently at Gonzaga. She asserted her dominance in goal, collecting her first shutout of the season, 2-0, and recording a season-high seven saves.
