Falcons Swept by Nevada in Road Matchup

RENO, Nev. -- Despite holding two late leads, the Air Force volleyball team dropped a straight-set contest to Nevada this afternoon (Oct. 25) in Reno to split the season series with the Wolfpack at one win each. After dropping the opening set at Virginia Street Gym by a 15-25 score, the Falcons were unable to convert six set-points over the next two sets and ultimately fell 24-26, 26-28.

With a match-high 13 kills, senior Ashley Bible accounted for nearly half of the team's offensive production. Classmate Alex Hatchett, who added six kills on .357 hitting, notched a team-high four blocks (one solo, three assisted), while fellow senior Jordan Suan led the Falcons with 10 digs and one of the team's three service aces. Freshman Sam Pope rounded out the Falcons' list of stat leaders with 15 assists over the final two sets.

The Falcons remain on the road next week to face Grand Canyon and New Mexico for the first time this season. Air Force will take on the conference's newest member in Phoenix on Thursday, Oct. 30, before heading to Albuquerque for a meeting with the Lobos on Saturday, Nov. 1.
