
Women's Soccer Drops to Boise State

U.S. AIR FORE ACADEMY, Colo., - Falcons women's soccer (3-6-2, 1-2) fell in a hard-fought battle against conference opponent Boise State (4-3-6, 2-0-2), 2-1, on Sunday afternoon at Cadet Soccer Stadium.
Zahra Friess accounted for Air Force's lone goal of the match, while the team combined for five shots on goal. In goal, Trishelle Lopez managed five saves.
The Broncos broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute to go up 1-0 over the Falcons. Ten minutes later, Boise State's Sophie Schmautz extended the lead to 2-0.
In the second half of play, freshman Friess caught a breakaway from midfield and was able to put her second career goal in the back of the net, trimming the deficit to 2-1, at the 82' mark. While the Falcons battled for possession and fired off four more shots, they were unable to catch Boise State.
Air Force will head up I-25 for more Mountain West action at Wyoming, on Thursday October 9 at 3 p.m. MT.
