Air Force Drops Contest to Miami (Ohio)

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's basketball dropped a 76-61 contest to Miami (Ohio) (3-0) on Saturday afternoon at Clune Arena. Junior forward Caleb Walker led the Falcons with 17 points and eight rebounds.
Miami ulitized the long-ball, connecting on 13 three's and pulled away late, after Air Force had cut the game to four midway through the second half. Forward Brant Byers led three Redhawks in double-figures with 18 points. Forward Antwone Woolfolk added 13 rebounds.
Walker set career-high's in both points and rebounds to lead the Falcons. Walker was 6-of-8 from the field and got to the free throw line for 12 attempts.
Freshman Lucas Hobin scored a career-high 16 points in his first-career start. Hobin was 4-of-9 from three-point range, adding four rebounds. Sophomore Eli Robinson was the third Falcon in double-figures with 13 points. Robinson added a team-high five assists to go with two steals.
Air Force tied a season-high with 10 steals. Freshmen Ethan Greenberg had four steals and Kam Sanders had three.
Air Force trailed 40-26 at the half, as Miami connected on seven first-half three's.
The Redhawks led by as many as 16, before Air Force ripped off a 12-0 run to cut the lead to four at 54-49 with 11:27 to play. Miami responded to the big run with an 8-0 run of its own to pull away.
Air Force shot 41 percent from the field and 28 percent from three. The Falcons got to the line 22 times, shooting 64 percent.
Air Force returns to action Wednesday, Nov. 19, hosting Alabama State. Tip time is 4 pm MT.
