Air Force Falls To #9 San Jose State 14-10 at WCC Tournament

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Seventh-seed Air Force men's water polo fell to two-seed #9 San Jose State (12-7), 14-10, in the opening game of the 2025 West Coast Conference tournament at the Cadet Natatorium. Juniors Tom Leggett and Jack Richards led the Falcons with four goals each.
San Jose State jumped ahead early and a late Air Force rally was not enough.
The Spartans led 4-1 after the first quarter and 9-4 at the half. Air Force out-scored SJSU 6-5 in the second half.
The Falcons pulled to within two goals at 11-9 in the fourth quarter. But San Jose State responded with a 4-1 run to close out the game.
Senior Luca Smith had 11 saves in goal. Brady Kopperud and Jonah Vander Veen had two assists each.
Air Force caps the season with a 17-15 overall record, for its fourth winning season in the last five.
