
Hedden and Wasik earn AHA Weekly Awards for second time

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force senior Chris Hedden and junior Dominik Wasik both earned Atlantic Hockey America weekly awards for helping lead the Falcons to a sweep at Army, Nov. 21-22.
Hedden was named the AHA Defenseman of the Week as he helped lead Air Force to a sweep at Army with four points (1-3-4). He had a season-high three points in game one. His goal in the third period of game one gave the Falcons a 5-2 lead and he assisted on Air Force's third and sixth goals. In game two, he assisted on the power-play goal that gave the Falcons a 2-1 lead. He was a +4 and had three blocked shots in the series.
Wasik was named the AHA Goalie of the Week as he earned both wins at Army, posting a 2.45 goals-against average and a .912 saves percentage. He allowed just three even-strength goals in the series. Wasik made 21 saves in the first game. In game two, he made 31 saves, the second most of his career, including 14 in the third period and one in overtime.
The weekly award for Hedden is his second of the season and sixth of his career. The weekly award for Wasik is his second of the season and career. They are the third and fourth weekly league awards won by the Falcons this season.
Air Force (7-6-1) travels to Buffalo, N.Y,, for a two-game AHA series against Canisius, Friday-Saturday, Nov. 28-29.
