USAF ACADEMY, Colo. -- The Air Force boxing team recently announced that the 2026 Wing Open Championships – one the most anticipated events on the Academy calendar – will be held under the lights of Clune Arena on Friday, Feb. 27. The Wing Open finals will headline the second half of the Falcons' 2025-26 schedule, which was finalized by head coach Dr. Mark Clifford this afternoon (Dec. 8).
The second half of the season begins on Jan. 16, when the Falcons return to the Cadet Gym Boxing Room for the team's final Friday Night Fights of the academic year. Air Force will then welcome contenders from across the National Collegiate Boxing Association (NCBA) to the Academy for the third-annual Falcon Invitational on Jan. 24, before closing out the regular season at the WAC Main Event in Seattle (Jan. 30-31) and the Mills Lane Memorial in Reno (Feb. 6).
The opening rounds of the annual Wing Open tournament – first-round (Feb. 4), quarterfinals (Feb. 13), semifinals (Feb. 20) – will take place in the Boxing Room, while the finals will be held in Clune Arena on Feb. 27. The Wing Open champions will form the core of the squad that will represent Air Force at the NCBA regional (March 12-14, Reno) and national (April 16-18, Charlotte, N.C.) championships.
