Air Force Fencing Completes Competition at Junior Olympics

Air Force fencing completed competition at USA Fencing's Junior Olympics, held Feb. 14-17, at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, NC.

Three Falcons competed on the weekend, with all three earning top 100 finishes.

Jack Griffith led the Falcons with a 47th place finish in the Div. I men's foil, out of a field of 239. Griffith made the round of 64 in the direct elimination bracket.

Keira Lonadier competed in the junior women's and Div. I women's epee events. Lonadier finished 177th out of a field of 282 in the junior women's epee. She later finished 87th out of a field of 219 in the Div. I women's epee, making the round of 128 in the elimination bracket.

Omar Emara was the third competitor for the Falcons, placing 97th in the Div. I men's epee, out of a field of 360. Emara went a perfect 6-0 in pool competition, making the round of 128 in the elimination bracket.

Air Force returns to action March 8-9 as the host institution for the NCAA West Regionals on March 8 and the MPSF Fencing Championships on March 9.
